We are pleased to advise that we will be running our School Work Experience program again this year, catering to current Australian students in Years 10, 11 and 12.
The dates for 2017 will be:
Week 1: June 19 to 23, 2017 - Applications closed
Week 2: November 20 to 24, 2017 - Applications closed
Please note that this program is open to current Australian Secondary students only and we cannot accept applications from Yr 12 students (i.e. students completing their HSC in 2017) for the November week, as they will no longer be covered by their school’s insurance.
To apply please complete our application form. We recommend that you also provide a web link, digital or hard copies of still or moving images, or coding examples that you have created or helped create, particularly if you are interested in a career as a digital artist.
NOTE: we cannot return submitted material so please do not send originals. Keep in mind that images don’t have to be digitally created (though they can be) and that we are interested in artistic content as well as technical and craft proficiency.
Each of the weeks will include a tour of the Animal Logic Sydney studio, but most of the time will be spent in our training area, located at our studio. In this space students will meet artists and technicians from many of the different disciplines within the company. Participants will get an overview of what these people do on a day to day basis, and what their teams are responsible for within production. They will also learn how that individual got to where they are: what they studied, what different jobs they’ve held and what was important along the way. Finally, where possible, students will be led through exercises that give them some hands on experience and understanding of the tools and processes used in our industry.
