MayaMan Paths

MayaMan needs to know where it can find its own support files, and where to locate the RenderMan renderers that it will be interfacing with. The MayaMan installer will set up these location for you, but you may need to modify them if you install new renderers or wish to select between different renderer versions.

Below is the definition for each parameter:

MAYAMANROOT:
Location of MayaMan installation. The MayaMan plugin will look here for shaders, help files, helper programs and other things.

RMANTREE:
This is the PRMan installation location. If you don't use PRMan then this setting is ignored.

ENTROPYHOME:
Location of the Entropy renderer. If you don't use Entropy then this setting is ignored.

BMRTHOME:
Location of the BMRT renderer. If you don't use BMRT then this setting is ignored.

AIRHOME:
Location of the Air renderer. If you don't use Air then this setting is ignored.

RDCROOT:
Location of the RenderDotC renderer. If you don't use RenderDotC then this setting is ignored.

ANIMALL_LICENSE_FILE:
This string specifies the location or locations that MayaMan will look for a FLEXlm license file or server. The ANIMALL_LICENSE_FILE variable is used ahead of any locations specified in the LM_LICENSE_FILE variable used by all FLEXlm licensed software. Set this to your license fie (e.g. C:\AnimalLogic\MayaMan\AnimalL.dat) or a port at a license server (e.g. 5055@hal).

Active Settings

This tab shows you the active settings that MayaMan will be using. They are derived from the settings in the other tabs (see below).

Env. Variables

This tab shows you the values of any environment variables for the MayaMan paths. Setting these values using an environment variable will override any registry settings. Environment variables are the only way to set these values under Linux/IRIX. Changing the values of the variables here will only affect the current Maya session, you will need to change them permanently for your environment outside of Maya.

Registry: Current User (Windows Only)

This shows the registry values for the variables as set for the current user. These values override the registry settings for all users. The MayaMan installer will set its values here if it is run by a non-administrator account.

Registry: All Users (Windows Only)

The values here are stored in the registry for all users. The MayaMan installer will set its values here by default.
