MayaMan NetRender Hosts

When rendering with Pixar's NetRender application, you can render a single image over many computers on your network. The MayaMan NetRender Hosts dialog is used to specify which hosts and options to use.

Hosts List

This list shows all hosts that will be used for the network rendering, when 'Pixar - NetRender' is selected as the renderer in MayaMan Basic Options. Add and remove hosts from this list using the field and buttons to the right of the hosts box.

Load/Save Host List File

Because you would often want to use the same set of NetRender hosts between many different scenes, being able to load and save host lists to a file means you will not have to manually build up your host list with each new scene. Simply save out a file using the 'Save Host List File' button, and load that list into MayaMan later with the load button.

Pass NetRender '-f' (use files)

By default, NetRender rendering hosts will have all the necessary data passed to them through the network from the machine executing the netrender. However, it may be more efficient if the hosts can retrieve their own data from the network. If this option is on, the rendering hosts will attempt to retrieve textures and other external files using the network filesystem.
