Animal Logic was chosen to work on the film based on the strength of its work on Hero, and was then named lead visual effects house on the film. At the film’s completion, Animal Logic had delivered 100 shots in key sequences.

House of Flying Daggers, Zhang Yimou’s much-anticipated follow up film to Hero, tells the story of a soldier and his revolutionary lover as they embark on a journey fraught with danger. The film features Yimou’s trademark martial arts battle scenes.

Animal Logic’s Andy Brown, Kirsty Millar and Luke Hetherington were nominated for a BAFTA Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Special Visual Effects’.

Andy and Kirsty also received a Satellite Award for Best Visual Effects – an award presented by the International Press Academy honouring outstanding achievements in cinema, television and interactive media.
